The Alberta Breastfeeding Committee (ABC) is a coalition of stakeholders from across the province focused on promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding in Alberta.

"ALBERTA BREASTFEEDING CHARTER"

Letter requesting endorsement:

The Alberta Breastfeeding Committee (ABC) is excited to announce the public launch of the “Alberta Breastfeeding Charter”.  The Charter outlines a seven point Action Plan to create awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and its role in reducing health inequities.  Albertans value the health of children and families and need to make informed decisions to promote and protect their health.

As you review the "Alberta Breastfeeding Charter", please consider the role you and your organization can play in the implementation of the Action Plan.

In response to your endorsement of the Alberta Breastfeeding Charter, and with written permission, the ABC will add your organization’s name and logo to the Charter.  The ABC has available the expertise and knowledge of our members to assist you in implementing sections of the Action Plan relevant to your organization.

The ABC believes that individuals and organizations will reinforce the message to Alberta policy makers that supporting, promoting and protecting breastfeeding reduces chronic disease and normalizes the health of all women and children.

Sincerely,

Barb Paton, RN, BScN, IBCLC, RLC

Maureen Fjeld, IBCLC, RLC
